Selonnes Consult MD/CEO Oseloka H. Obaze At Sapientia TV “Citizens Forum” Pilot Recording
Today, 3 August 2021, Oseloka H. Obaze, MD/CEO of Selonnes Consult made a debut appearance on Sapientia TV “Citizens Forum” Pilot Recording.
During the hour-long exchange, Obaze and the host Jude Get man Chibike had frank and animated discussion on Nigeria’s leadership recruitment process and the role of the national electorate in undermining the very good leadership they covet. They interrogated the heady question, whether there a magic wand that could be deployed to sanitize our political space and thus make it possible for good men and women to emerge as leaders.
The duo also discussed ways of overcoming the national challenges confronting the Nigerian Political elite because of corruption. Can we discuss that environment which the politician operates in that makes it difficult for him/her to deliver when elected? Finally, the pair explored the increasingly intrusive role of the Churches and other Religious Institutions in national politics despite the desirable separation of Church and State.
Obaze underlined that”purposeful leadership in Nigeria was continually hobbled by lack of elite consensus. He emphasized, that “by being unaccountable to the nation and to themselves, Nigerian elite as a collective, continue to orchestrate democracy’s uncertainties in the country.” Obaze stressed that his views on this subject, were well documented in his most recent book, Waning Strength of Government.
