Selonnes Policy Tidbits: | Don’t defund the police, rather reform policing

George  Floyd’s death in the US, has precipitated calls for defunding of the police. Such policy move if adopted, will influence policing globally and in Nigeria. From a policy perspective the call is understably fueled by anger and traditional emotionalism. Rather than defund, we should be looking at acute reform policing culture and training. British and Swedish police training are good cost-effective models.
