Selonnes Consult’s Chiagozie Udeh arrives Vallecrosia, Italy for the 2018 Global Youth Summit on Climate Change.

Selonnes Consult’s Chiagozie Udeh has arrived Vallecrosia, Italy for the 2018 Global Youth Summit on Climate Change organized by Plant-for-the-Planet Foundation in partnership with the United Nations Environment (UN Environment). The Youth Summit which will include series of training and public engagement in Italy will serve as preparation for the main event tagged “PlantAhead” in Monaco.

PlantAhead is the kick-off event for a global movement – the Trillion Tree Campaign. According to official statement on the event website, “It‘s setting in motion a dramatic domino effect with catastrophic environmental, social and economic consequences, such as drought, flooding, hunger, poverty, war and refugee crises”.

“We are running out of time. But there is one thing we can do now, today: Plant trees”.

“A trillion trees could cool down the earth by storing 25 to 50 % of the global human made CO2 emissions and stimulate poor regions by adding hundreds of millions jobs to the global economy”.

“The Trillion Tree Campaign is the most ambitious reforestation project in human history – helping keep the temperature rise below the 2°C limit”.

Since we were handed over the official Tree Counter in 2011 by UN Environment and Prince Albert of Monaco, together with Ambassadors of Climate Justice across the world, we have planted 15.2 billion trees. To save the future, the young generation together with the Prince of Monaco invited the visionary and influential people to plant the remaining 985 billion trees.

Trillion Trees campaign will be launched on 9 March in Monaco.  Chiagozie will be among the youths drawn from different nations who will handle some tasks during the historic event.
