Obaze Charge Youths; “Take Responsibility”

Nigerian Youths have been reminded of that the task of developing our State and country is one they will inevitably assume and take over from the current leaders.

Governance and policy expert, former UN diplomat and a front line contender in the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra State, Mr. Oseloka H. Obaze, stated this while speaking at the Youth Day event of the Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON) of St. Gregory De Great Parish, Iyowa Odekpe.

Obaze who was honoured by the CYON of St. Gregory De Great Parish, with an award “for excellent performance in governance” urged the youth to prepare themselves for the task ahead by standing on the path of truth.

Obaze, who is also the immediate-past Secretary to Anambra State Government counseled the Youths to work together and in clusters for more positive output and desist from rascality and nefarious activities which at times lead to the collectivized stereotyping of youths, including some hardworking ones.

Obaze thanked the Episcopal Vicar Fr. Emmanuel Egwuoba, the CYON Chaplain Fr. John Paul Okeke and CYON President Mr. Chidiebere Okpala for the recognition.

Obaze stressed that his public service focus and commitment was on creating a better society and redesigning the environment and template in which our Youths and Children can flourish and explore their God given talents in the service of God and country.

Speaking earlier, Rev. Fr. John Paul Okeke, praised Obaze who he said performed very well in his previous position as the SSG of the State and deserves to one day become the governor of Anambra State.

Fr. Okeke, who will mark one year of his priesthood on July 9th, reminded the Youths that now is the time serve God and country with their strengths. He urged them to not to succumb to peer pressure.

Continuing Fr. Okeke urged the Youths to do away with unhealthy lifestyles, saying that as Catholic Youths, “their lives must be different.”

He stressed that “being a Youth doesn’t have to needlessly translate to being a noisemaker or obnoxious.”
