Oseloka H. Obaze (OHO) join Ex-Enugu Rangers and STC Nsukka alumi to bid farewell to soccer star, Kenneth “Kendo” Ilodigwe in Awka.


Ex-CKC Onitsha, Ex-STC Nsukka, Ex-Rangers, Ex-Green Eagles, Ex -Clemson University, soccer star, Kenneth “Kendo” Ilodigwe, was laid to rest in Awka today 2 June 2017. Ilodigwe was a member of the East Central State Academicals that drubbed teams from every state in 1971, and even defeated the legendary Rangers a International in a friendly. He was also a member of the East Central State Soccer team that won the gold medal at the 1973 edition of the National Sports Festival in Lagos. As a member of Rangers International he was on teams that won the National League consecutively in 1974, 75 and 76. He went on to become an All-American NACC as a Clemson University player. Diagnosed with malignant prostate cancer in 2010, Ilodigwe fought gallantly, before succumbing to the illness. Among the dignitaries in attendance were his Ex-Rangers team mates, STC Nsukka alumi, some of his schoolmates from CKC Onitsha including Paul “Pilopa”  Okonkwo  and  immediate-past  Anambra State  SSG Mr Oseloka H. Obaze.  In  tribute to Mr Ilodigwe, Obaze  characterized him as “a talented, elegant and dazzling footballer full of genuine warmth.”

Mr. Obaze is the former Secretary to the State Government of Anambra State, Nigeria from 2012 to 2015 - MD & CEO, Oseloka H. Obaze. Mr. Obaze also served as a former United Nations official, from 1991-2012, and as a former member of the Nigerian Diplomatic Service, from 1982-1991.
