OHO Press Release: 17/18; 29 May, 2017Statement Attributable to Mr. Oseloka H. Obaze, on Nigeria’s 2017 Democracy Day

Today 29th May, 2017, marks exactly 18 years of unbroken democratic rule in Nigeria. It is a day worthy of celebration. Democracy is hard work and we must remain focused. Every Nigerian citizen must contribute to make it work for us and our posterity. We must recommit to upholding the tenets of democracy, which are grounded on justice, civil liberties and the rule of law. Our nascent democracy of over 180 million people is not yet eureka; moving forward calls for purposeful leadership, sacrifice, accommodation, equity and unity. Happy Democracy Day Nigeria.
