Policy and Governance expert, and  the MD/CEO of Selonnes Consult, Mr Oseloka H. Obaze has welcomed the appointment of Ms Amina J. Mohammed of Nigeria as the next and third female UN Deputy Secretary-General.

Mr Obaze said, “Nigerians should be elated by the announcement today by the UN Secretary-General-designate of Ms. Amina J. Mohammed of Nigeria as his Deputy Secretary-General. The appointment is salutary. We will surely miss her proactive role as Minister of Environment of Nigeria, but we are confident that she will, along with her two other female colleagues, Ms. Maria Luiza Ribeiro Viotti of Brazil as the Chef de Cabinet, and Ms. Kyung-wha Kang of the Republic of Korea, as Special Advisor on Policy, bring added value, to UN administration and tackling of various global issues. We applaud the SG-designate’s commitment to gender parity and geographical diversity.”
