Obaze’s  Wife Delights Awka Crowd, Promises Reduced and Harmonized Tax System

The PDP Women Tour lead by the Wife of the Governorship Candidate of the party Dr. Ofunne Obaze, in Awka South reveals the plan of the candidate to genuinely make Awka a befitting capital city with ready made studies already available She recounted the struggles of various governments to live up to the usual campaign promise of transforming the Awka capital saying it failed because of a lack of proper plan and government commitment.

Dr. Ofunne Obaze reminded the crowd that her husband had as SSG to former Governor Peter Obi attracted foreign partners to Okpoko who did a study on the city for Urban Renewal but the plan failed to materialize owing to the lack of trust of the partners on the current government saying that with Mr. Obaze, Awka will have everything it needs to be a modern city.

The US-trained Paediatrician also promised the Women that the PDP government will not only reduce their taxes but harmonize them to a solitary monthly payment to avoid the multiple taxation re-introduced by the current administration. This, she said, is to relieve the Women who are struggling to make ends meet and also take care of the family.

Dr. Obaze reiterated the commitment of the PDP to offer free, quality and compulsory education from kindergarten to JS3 as well as raise the budget for education from current 9 percent to 26 percent with 10 percent of that going to mission and private schools.

She further stated that one of the quick starts for their government will be the reintroduction of N5000 social welfare package for people from 75yrs and above as well as introducing a Charity Care for free healthcare for the indigent and affordable healthcare for the non-indigent.
