Statement Attributable to Mr. Oseloka H. Obaze, on flood damages in Awka
I commiserate with individuals and businesses around Athur Eze Road in Awka that experienced massive damages resulting in losses to property and goods due to the flooding from early rains. Whereas we cannot control the forces of nature, mitigating the consequences of flooding especially in urban areas, remains a matter of attention to proper physical planning, efficient construction of roads and the drainage system and proper and timely intervention in areas known to be prone to occasional flooding.
