Statement Attributable to Mr. Oseloka H. Obaze, on Prof. Charles Soludu’s position on Anambra State governorship in 2017.
“Members of the media have sought my views and reactions to the notion that the aspirations of those contesting for the Anambra State government house 2017 has been foreclosed, citing reported remarks attributed to Prof. Charles Soludo. I respect Prof. Charles Soludo highly as a person and an economist. I also respect his rights of free thought and speech. Yet I consider it impolitic for anyone to declare that “there is no vacancy” in the Anambra State Government House as he did. The Nigerian Constitution stipulates such vacancy every four years, which is why even the incumbent is running for reelection and soliciting endorsement.”
